Funding your studies

Grants

Each year, 30 to 40% of our students benefit from state funded “CROUS” grants.

Student loans

These loans have the particularity of being paid after completing your studies. Meaning that most of the time, you can start paying it back one or several years after graduation (and having already found a job in most cases).

Often, our students apply for student loans in order to finance their studies. Many countries have public institutions that give student loans in order to help students finance their graduate degrees abroad.

We advise you to look at several banks in order to see the best interest rates.

Housing allowance (CAF)

CAF stands for Caisse d’Allocations Familiales and is a government institution that helps families -and not only- with a wide range of services and benefits. As a student, you can benefit from the CAF and the financial aid it offers.

In order to benefit from the financial aid, you will first need to have found an apartment or room in France (and have signed the contract). It may be difficult to find one before arriving in France, but don’t worry, that’s why ITECH Lyon has an accommodation service to help you with the search.

To apply for the housing allowance, you will need to create an account on caf.fr and submit your file. If you want to know an approximate of how much the financial aid would be, you perform a simulation. The whole process is done in French, but at the International Relations Office we can help you with all of it.
