Clubs
A large number of Associations and clubs are managed by students: the Bureau des élèves (students' union), the Bureau des Sports (sports' union), and many clubs. Every year, students participate in humanitarian associations (solidar’ITECH).
Students can also create new clubs: sport, culture, food…
ITECH strongly encourages students to participate in a range of activities, whilst insisting on a good balance between their studies and community life.
This means good time management and being aware of their limits. The fact that students look for their own sponsors means that they become aware of the financial management of their activities. Accepting responsibilities, decision-making, looking for new ideas and organising teams are all qualities that contribute to the career of a future engineer.
Bureau Des Elèves (Students’ union)
The BDE is the association that manages the clubs, parties, evenings out, etc… It includes a Chairman/woman and a team that looks after the budget, publicity, sponsors, logistics, photos, etc…
The BDE organises:
- The student common room, which is an area where students can meet, relax (table football, music, etc…) and grab something to eat or drink (snacks, non-alcoholic drinks, microwave, etc…)
- Parties
- The freshers’ week-end, in collaboration with the school management
- The humanitarian urban orienteering event
- The “Rallye des Grandes Ecoles de Lyon” rally
- The annual gala
The BDE also manages the following Clubs:
- Cheerleading
- Theatre
- Choir
- Dance (Hip-Hop, Rock, etc…)
- Music
- Games

Bureau des Sports (Sports’ union)
This also features a board that manages and organises:

- Purchasing of equipment (balls, tops, etc…)
Themed evenings out

Participation in the Tournoi Inter-Chimie (Inter-Chemistry Tournament): sport matches involving all the chemistry and chemical engineering students in France.
Solidart’ITECH
Solidaritech is an association overseen by the school’s BDE. It acts as a focal point for any students interested in joining a humanitarian mission (Peru, Burkina Faso, Asia, etc…) as part of their first-year international experience.
4L Trophy Rally
The 4L Trophy™ is a students-only Adventure Rally through the Moroccan desert aboard Renault 4L cars. Youngsters on the lookout for Adventure can enjoy a unique experience combining sporting challenge, a change of scenery and solidarity.
Why solidarity? Because the 4L Trophy™ also aims to transport school and sports equipment to Morroco’s most deprived children. Over the years, this combination has seen the 4L Trophy™ become the premier student sporting and humanitarian event in Europe! A team from ITECH takes part in the rally every year.
EDHEC race
This association handles the participation of an ITECH team in the EDHEC race, over both land and sea (looking for sponsors, training throughout the year…).
