Apprenticeship
An original option that provides benefits for both small and medium-sized companies and students looking to immediately apply their knowledge
Engineering
Given the way in which the engineering course is organised, with 1 year of core curriculum then 2 years of specialist studies, the apprenticeship option is logically chosen at the end of the first year, when the course switches to focus on a specific profession.
The engineering curriculum is the same: the apprentices as evaluated in the same way as the students. When they are away on placement, the students work on projects or practicals in small groups, attend classes such as intercultural studies or take part in business creation games: the apprentices learn these skills through their hands-on work with their host company. When the apprentices return, they perform specific practicals in order to take in the concepts the students covered in a different manner. When the students are on holiday, the apprentices attend specific lessons.
The students selected for apprenticeships change status and become engineering apprentices. As soon as they sign their apprenticeship contracts, they become company employees and are exempt from paying tuition fees. The administrative and financial aspects of this course are managed by the Centre de Formation de l'Apprentissage (Apprenticeship Training Centre) for each of the relevant professional branches: CIRFAP-Plastics Engineering, IFAIP-Chemistry, CFA-Textiles and Leather.
